Fred Yoshinori Fujita worked as a Japanese radio announcer at KGU Radio before the war. After his incarceration, Fujita joined the U.S. Army and underwent Japanese language training at the Military Intelligence Service Language School at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. He served with the MIS.
