A son, Samuel Satoru Kuramoto, and a brother, Sakae Kuramoto, of Tatsunori Kuramoto served in the U.S. military during World War II. Sakae Kuramoto received linguistics training at Camp Savage, Minnesota, and was a member of the U.S. Military Intelligence Service.
