Arrived in Honolulu aboard the military troopship the Marine Wolf.


In 1943, as Masaru Miyamoto was as sent to the Mainland for internment, his younger brother Hitoshi Alton Miyamoto volunteered as a Japanese language translator for the U.S. Army. He served during the war with the Military Intelligence Service. 

While in Tule Lake, Masaru married Kiyoka Kawai of Washington.
