Arrived in Honolulu with about 775 other internees aboard the military troopship the Shawnee.


At the Lihue Hongwanji Mission, Mineo Miyasaki was an active partner in her husband's role as resident minister. She was principal of the temple's Heiwa Gakuen Japanese language school, a member of the Hawaii Education Association of language teachers, and head of the temple's women's organization. After her husband's death in 1948, she became the resident minister of the Lanai City Hongwanji Mission.
