Arrived in Honolulu aboard the military troopship the Marine Wolf.


Upon the Yasunakas' release from confinement, Hideichi, wife Shizuka, and younger son Kaneaki Francis returned to Hawaii. Older son Kaname Gary and daughter Tsuyako Gloria remained in California. 

In 1950, Gary was inducted into the U.S. Army and sent overseas. He was declared missing in action in the Korean War in April 1951.
