All three of Tokuemon Moritsugu's sons served in the U.S. military during the World War II era. Richard Yutaka Moritsugu was a member of the 100th Infantry Battalion before being assigned to the army's Military Intelligence Service; Sumito Moritsugu served as an army private; Tim Akira Moritsugu also was a member of the MIS.
