Two of Seiichi Shimamoto's sons, Bernard Hideo Shimamoto and Yoshio Shimamoto, served during World War II as trained linguists with the U.S. Army's Military Intelligence Service.
After the war, Shimamoto worked for the M. Otani Company, established by fellow internee Matsujiro Otani.
