In 1944, a provost judge in Honolulu fined Tadashi Shiraishi $200 and sentenced him to six months in prison for failure to report having received military training while living in Japan two decades previously. Shiraishi was held at Honouliuli and in November was part of a group of nearly 70 internees to be sent for incarceration at Tule Lake in California.
